OZELLO, FLORIDA

Ozello was recently ranked the number 2 spot in the state with miles of pristine flats and creeks with beautiful crystal clear water and turtle grass. Ozello is a manatee playground and has some of the biggest redfish on the Florida’s west coast. It’s teeming with trout and other target species. Located approximately 90 minutes from Orlando, this is a spot that should not be missed.

CHASSOWITZKA RIVER, FLORIDA

Recommended for intermediate to advanced paddlers. There will be quite a lot of paddling on this trip but it’s well worth it. The start of the journey is freshwater where you’ll fish for Florida’s legendary bass. Further into the journey we’ll target salt water species like redfish, trout and snook. The “Chaz’ is a state wildlife sanctuary where all types of egrets, heron and other bird life thrive. This trip is like taking a step back in time and great for the fisherman or the sightseer. Huge trees and ferns and many crystal clear springs make this a truly memorable adventure.

PINE ISLAND, FLORIDA

Miles of creeks and bayou’s make this one of my favorites. Located in Hernando County this is a great location to target reds, trout, snook, and cobia. On this trip we’ll visit my “secret” 100 foot deep spring which is a great spot to limit out on black drum, snapper, and reds. This is an easy paddle that provides a beautiful look at unspoiled Florida. Pine Island also offers a great spots for a kayak camping experience. Island camping on the edge of the Chassowitzka Nature Preserve provides gorgeous views and an in-depth fishing experience for a lifetime of memories. Night fishing is a real treat and there is nothing better than fresh fish cooked over a wood fire by an excellent camp chef.

BAYPORT, FLORIDA

This trip starts at the site of a historic Civil War port that was the embarkation point for Union soldiers marching towards Brooksville, Florida. Bayport was the original county seat for Hernando County. Located at the mouth of the Weeki Wachee River, the Mud River and Jenkins Creek this spot is a crossroads for fish and fisherman alike.

ARIPEKA, FLORIDA

Baseball great Babe Ruth once had a fishing cabin in Aripeka where he would come to fish. The reason Babe came still exists today, Aripeka is still old Florida at it’s best. Located on Indian Bay, Aripeka is a small fishing village and an easy paddle to some great trout, redfish, and snook fishing. Dolphins and manatee are usually around and are known to come right up to your kayak to say hello. This trip is a true fisherman’s dream.
